Members of the California Jersey Cattle Association gather for their annual meeting every year in February. The event is opportunity for them to catch up with friends and honor accomplishments.
Several special awards are given at a banquet held in conjunction with the annual meeting. The California Senior Breeder and California Junior Breeder awards recognize accomplishments in developing outstanding herds of Registered Jersey cattle. The Distinguished Service and Sweetheart awards honor service to the dairy industry and the state Jersey organization.

Officers and directors are elected to govern the state Jersey organization at the annual meeting. Officers serve one-year terms; directors serve three-year terms.
Jersey breeders also enjoy a little friendly competition in show rings across the state every year. Two popular and competitive Jersey shows are the California Spring Jersey Show and the California State Fair.
