California Registered Jersey Cows Among Country’s Top Producers

A pair of Registered Jersey cows from California are among the breed’s highest-producing cows for 2019.

JX Foothill Hobbit 21195 {5}, Very Good-84%, owned by Ahlem Foothill Farms of Turlock, produced 29,980 lbs. milk, 1,723 lbs. fat and 1,187 lbs. protein as a senior three-year-old. On a cheese yield basis, production is 4,110 lbs. The record ranks 8th for cheese yield and 10th for protein among 305-day records produced by Registered Jersey cows in 2019.

JX CDF Voltage Goose S2588 {4}, owned by C & S Livestock of Hilmar, produced 32,910 lbs. milk, 1,335 lbs. fat and 1,094 lbs. protein at 4-2. This record ranks 10th in the nation for milk.
